Clearly, technical managers are just as herd-like as any other population.  Open floor plans is a popular trend, and we now compete with each other against the trend, as illogical as it is.

And while some startup managers really can’t afford closed office space, Facebook hardly has that excuse.  Maybe someone there just likes to look out over his minions and enjoy the view?
