David Brian Ward’s career spans 35 years of experience as an entrepreneur and executive leader of software innovation at firms large and small. Mr. Ward founded Telegraph Hill in 2010 to provide leading edge technical management consulting and onsite software development teams to fast-growing firms in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The more virtual our social relationships, the more overwhelmingly important onsite physical presence is. That’s why face to face teams are a core principle of an agile methodology.
John Lorance brings 20+ years of hands-on software and data system development experience, providing technical and executive-level management leadership to multiple early stage startups. As Telegraph Hill’s VP of Engineering he leads development of Telegraph’s Interim CTO practice, delivering critical engineering management support and agile coaching to startups and organizations undergoing digital transformation. He is a particular expert in leading global development teams, with successful outcomes as a result of effective team communication and inclusive stakeholder input.

VP of Software Development
Phil Lockwood is an experienced software manager who remains hands-on with all of today’s critical open source software technologies. A highly capable manager of talent with several Director of Engineering positions to his credit, Phil has a long history in the design and implementation of high-volume, mission critical systems at venture-backed firms. He also enjoys moon-lighting as a multi-media artist and musician.

Marion has over twenty years of data-intensive web application development experience in both small and global enterprise businesses. He is adept at translating business needs into focused engineering productivity.
Marion has been the technical founder of several startups over the past decade.

I have over 20 years of experience in Customer Experience platforms from legacy Telecom TDM PBX’s, VoIP, SIP, CTI-enabled, intelligent customer engagement platforms with various integrations to CRM, Workforce Optimization and Quality Management Systems.
Deployments of very large (10k+ agents), complex Omni-Channel platforms in the financial, credit card processing, and Insurance industries, delivering Voice Self and Assisted Services, Multi-Channel via Web-chat, Email, SMS, and Social media.
Innovative efforts including ChatBots for self-service, enabled by Virtual Personal Assistants and integrated AI/Machine learning technologies and Biometrics authentication. Practice Director Big Data Consulting
David Urry is an award winning data scientist. With a 30 year history of excellence in data science. By mastering the use of streams, micro-services, and data transformation David has delivered exceptionally well performing systems setting the standard of a 250 million record a day system data delivery to under 30 seconds (a roughly 600 time improvement from typical systems this size).
David has built several high performance server systems at the SUN CORBA group his team did some of the first multi-tier systems as well as some of the first commercially viable Java apps. In 2009 he built a 10MM DAU system handling 3/4 billion transactions a day on a 19 server cloud based system. Since then, he has continued to push the envelope on server development with medical record and biotech servers.
He has been a technical lead of teams as large as 3,000 engineers. He has as CTO or VP of Engineering on 4 occasions built teams from one person (himself) to teams of 20 or more. In 1997 he was the second engineer and technical lead at Extensity which IPOed in 2002 as one of a small handful of IPOs that year and continued to sell in excess of $7 Billion over the next 10 years.
Senior Software Engineer
Scott brings decades of experience in large scale distributed systems, administration, integration, software architecture and design. Scott is also well versed in data storage, machine learning, character recognition, and BI. Scott has worked primarily in financial services and received his degree from Cal Poly SLO.
Roger Bush is a technologist, entrepreneur and a Bay Area native. Most recently he was VP of Engineering for UrbanSitter where he built the engineering and operations teams from the ground up and created a stable, scalable platform for the company’s web and mobile applications. Roger also had a long, distinguished career at Yahoo working on a variety of products.
Senior Software Engineer
Bob has a BA, Mathematics, UC Berkeley before beginning a 25 year career working on real-time systems and kernel-level software for microprocessors. Bob then moved on to document image analysis, hand-print segmentation, character recognition, machine learning and natural language processing.
Technical Product Management Practice Director
Lenny Greenberg is an experienced software executive, founder and consultant. In his 30+ years he has led new technology initiatives in start-ups, as well as established software companies.
As co-founder and CTO of Assistyx, he led the development of the first Assistive Communication App for non-verbal children and adults on the iPad, as well as other mobile platforms. As co-founder and CTO of Pathlore Software, Lenny led the product roadmap and development of the Pathlore Learning Management System, the Phoenix Learning Content Management System and served on many eLearning industry standards committees. He also led product management and development in other early stage companies: Petzila (IoT Pet Technology), NoiseFree (embedded noise reduction for voice applications), Sigma Imaging Systems (Enterprise Imaging Workflow), Document Automation Corp. (Litigation Support Systems) and Instinet (pioneering online trading).
At Accenture, Lenny was part of the Law Firm and Banking Practices specializing in system implementations.

Prior to LifeState, Tahl was VP for Global Enterprise Architecture at Visa, Enterprise Architect in the consulting group for Cisco, and, CTO for Providian Finanical.
